BUILDING · BY ROLE · FULL-STACK

Senior full-stack engineers.
Vetted, then yours to approve.

Full-stack engineers from Latin America who join your team on your hours, screened on what senior actually means across the stack: a real deep end, the contract in the middle, and ownership from browser to database. You interview and approve every one.

WHAT SENIOR MEANS IN FULL-STACK

Anyone can work both sides. Seniors own the seam.

Full-stack is the most common title professional developers claim1 and the least specific: it can describe a product engineer who ships complete features alone, and it can describe someone shallow everywhere. The screen exists to tell those two apart, and to find where the depth actually is.

THE SENIOR BAR FOUR TESTS
01
A real deep end
One side owned at senior depth, the other worked without a chaperone. We name the lean in the shortlist notes, because a spike you can locate is worth more than balance you have to take on faith.
02
The contract in the middle
The API is where full-stack work succeeds or rots: pagination, error shapes, versioning, and types that hold on both sides of the wire. Seniors design the seam before either end.
03
Where rendering belongs
Server, client, or edge, argued per page against latency, SEO, and the team that maintains it. Owning both sides means there is nobody else to blame the choice on.
04
Production ownership
One person who can trace a bug from a browser console to a database query without a handoff, and fix it at the layer where the fix belongs. That range is the entire point of the role.

HOW THE FOUR STAGES APPLY

Same four stages. Cut across the stack.

Every Navta engineer clears four stages before reaching your calendar: code, system design, working English, references. For full-stack roles the first two cross the boundary on purpose, because that crossing is the job. The model is embedded engineers, and the hours are yours (computed here).

THE SCREEN, FOR FULL-STACK FOUR STAGES
01
Code
One exercise that crosses the boundary: an endpoint, its consumer, and the state in between, shaped like your stack and judged on the seams by senior engineers.
02
System design
A product slice end to end: data model, API shape, rendering strategy, cache layers, and what gives first when the four disagree.
03
Working English
Live and technical: explaining a tradeoff to a product manager, defending one in code review, keeping an incident thread readable. Certificates stay in the drawer.
04
References
Past managers, asked what this person owned alone and what they handed off. Then your interview. Nobody joins your team without clearing it.

THE QUESTIONS HIRING MANAGERS ASK

Short answers, specific.

Which stacks do you cover?

The Latin American pool is deepest in the JavaScript-plus-one pattern: React or Vue in front of Node, Python, or Go. Name your pair in the brief; the code stage runs on it, and the shortlist is built from engineers who have shipped on it, in production, before meeting you.

Is one full-stack engineer better than a front-end plus back-end pair?

Below a certain product surface, yes: one owner beats two specialists coordinating across a seam, and the feature ships as a whole. Past that point the math flips, usually when either end develops real depth (design-system work, heavy data modeling, hard performance targets). We will tell you which side of that line your brief sits on, in the first call.

Front-end-leaning or back-end-leaning?

Every honest full-stack engineer leans one way; the résumés that claim perfect balance are the ones to squint at. A dashboard-heavy product wants a different lean than an API business with a thin UI. Say which one your roadmap needs and the shortlist is built around that spike.

How fast can a full-stack engineer start?

Shortlist in days once the brief is set. Your interviews run at the speed of your calendar, and a start follows within days of approval, plus any notice period the engineer owes. First week: your repos, your standups, both ends of the codebase.

Who owns the code they write?

You do. The work happens in your repositories from day one, under one contract with Navta, Inc. governed by US law, with assignment language that says what it should. Nothing to migrate, nothing held hostage.
